Alpha Ignition Electrodes 6.1000802

 

For use with the following Alpha boilers:

Alpha 240 P
and Alpha 240 E
with Alpha 240 X
plus Alpha 280 P
fits Alpha 280 E
and Alpha 240 XE
with Alpha 500E

 

Usually, there are two different types of electrode, Ignition electrodes and flame sensing electrodes.

The Ignition electrode is responsible for creating the spark that starts off combustion within the appliance.

The flame sensing electrodes are responsible for detecting whether there is a flame present in the burner.

This is an important task that ensures the boiler doesn't keep supplying gas while no flame is present.
